After being employed for different positions in an English School in Yangshuo for several years, Bobby decided to set up his own English School. Where competition was high and management difficult, Bobby succeeded in building up his own school to become a qualified and ever growing school with a very good reputation all over the South of China. His knowledge of school management and efficient teaching methods is infinite. The long period of time he has spent with Westerners and Western culture has given him the opportunity to understand Western mentality better than other Chinese and to be more open for modernization in both management and teaching.

Roland Spoormaker

After graduation at Leiden University where he studied Chinese History, Roland changed Holland for China to learn more about Chinese culture while living in China. At first he got a job as an English teacher where he obtained all required modern teaching skills and very soon got interested in setting up his own school. He has always believed in the perfect mix of Western and Eastern entrepreneurship and has developed an open minded approach in both customer service and quality control. Together with his Chinese wife he has opened a Dutch café in Yangshuo. He found the perfect partner to set up a Chinese language school in his good friend Bobby.

Our Staff

To keep a close eye on our quality and service evolvement, Mandacentre has employed certified staff to guide and coach all our students individually during their stay in our school. Every teacher has several assistants who follow the students’ development closely. The assistants are the ones that will guide you easily through the background affairs like accommodation, language progression, daily problems and more.

Our Teachers

All our teachers are selected for their superb knowledge of both Chinese and English language. They all speak Standard Beijing Mandarin and are well educated in modern teaching methods. Their experience in teaching in a personal and interactive way will make the class interesting and vivid. For our teachers ‘lecturing’ is not the solution. Getting grip on a language is something a student has to achieve himself. We believe that an interactive way of studying where the teacher is more like an assistant and a source of information during the students learning process can help the students to achieve their goals easier
